Seven Magnificent Things To Do On Rover Recommended

Rover Recommended is a non-commercial, free to use website created by dog owners for dog owners. Our aim is to make life for dog owners more enjoyable and to encourage people to include their dog when planning holidays and day trips. Here are seven great features on Rover Recommended that we hope will help make life more fun for you and your dog.

1. Find dog friendly accommodation.

We have thousands of dog friendly hotels, B&Bs and cottages to choose from when deciding where to go on holiday with your four legged friend. You can search for accommodation in any UK county, where listings may be ordered alphabetically by name or town, by price or by review rating. Every hotel, B&B and cottage has a More Information button where you can read honest, independent reviews by other dog owners, find lots of dog friendly information, get maps and directions and find footpaths and great dog walks with our detailed Ordnance Survey maps.

For cottages you can also select the number of dogs you wish to take and the number of people you need to sleep. Rover Recommended will then list only the properties that meet your requirements.

2. Find dog friendly pubs, attractions and beaches.

Just like our accommodation you can search for dog friendly pubs and attractions in any UK county. Pubs and attractions can be listed alphabetically by town, name, or review rating. Every pub and attraction also has a More Information button where you can read reviews, find lots of dog friendly information, get maps and directions and find footpaths and great dog walks with our detailed Ordnance Survey maps. Beaches have also now been added to Rover Recommended with all the same great information and features as pubs and attractions.

3. Find dog friendly places nearby.

Every hotel, B&B, cottage, pub, attraction and beach on Rover Recommended has a Whats Near button which, when clicked, will show you all the dog friendly places within 20 miles of that listing. This feature is a great tool for planning a day trip or holiday as you can select a place to stay or visit and then find great dog friendly pubs nearby to have a drink or a meal.

For all accommodation you can enable the Summarize What's Near feature when selecting a county. The summary includes the number of nearby pubs, attractions and beaches for each listing, along with the name of the nearest and the distance to it.

You can also find dog friendly hotels, B&Bs, cottages, pubs, attractions and beaches within 20 miles of any UK postal address or postcode by using the Whats Near feature on the left hand side of every page. Just type in the address of where you staying or visiting and we’ll provide you with lots of great dog friendly accommodation, pubs, attractions and beaches nearby.

4. Share your experiences with other dog owners.

If you find a dog friendly hotel, B&B, cottage, pub or attraction that’s not listed on Rover Recommended then why not share it with other dog owners? You can use the simple Add Recommendation form to tell us about it and then we’ll add it to our database.

You can also share your experiences with other dog owners through our Add a Review form. We all appreciate honest reviews from real dog owners when choosing a place to stay or visit so your feedback would really help. All listings on Rover Recommended have an Add Review button that will take you directly to the review form, so when you’ve visited a hotel, B&B, cottage, pub or attraction listed on Rover Recommended, why not let other dog owners know how you got on?

5. Read the latest reviews and recommendations.

You can read all the latest reviews and recommendations to be added to Rover Recommended on our Whats New page.

6. Plan a dog walk.

Our Plan a Walk tool is a great way to create fun and exciting dog walks anywhere in the UK. You can start your walk at any UK address or at any one of our dog friendly hotels, B&Bs, cottages, pubs or attractions. You then simply add places you want your walk to pass through (waypoints) until you get to your destination. Waypoints can be any UK address or you can search for any one of our dog friendly listings within 1 to 10 miles. At each point we offer both Google and detailed Ordnance Survey maps so that you can find interesting footpaths and points of interest on your walk. When you’ve finished planning your walk we will display it on both Google and Ordnance Survey maps and give you written directions. So, next time you’re staying at a dog friendly hotel, B&B or cottage, why not plan a walk to a nearby dog friendly pub?

7. Be inspired by our dog friendly articles.

Our dog friendly Articles are written to give dog owners tips and ideas for holidays and day trips. Combined with our other great features these are a fantastic way to really help you enjoy life with your dog. New articles are added on a regular basis so make sure you watch this space!
By using Rover Recommended you are helping us to raise funds for dog rescue charities. 100% of all advertising revenue is donated directly to a designated rescue centre, so the more users we have the more money we can ask from our advertisers!
